Watch For Dust And Dirt
Dust is a big enemy of electrical appliances. It causes electronics to jam and can cause permanent damage to electromechanical parts, rendering them useless.
To help preserve the life of electronic devices and appliances you can do the following to combat dust and dirt.
Move electronics to higher ground from the floor so they are less susceptible to dust and other particles.
Use dust covers to minimize dust.
You can use microfiber chamois, cotton cloths, distilled water and rubbing alcohol to clean your electronics.
Personal Devices
Phones, tablets, and computers are heavy use items in a home. They should be examined and cleaned regularly even if you have a screen protector.
When cleaning them make sure they are turned off and unplugged. Running a Q-tip along the edges also helps to clean phones and tablets. Rubbing alcohol can also clean LCD screens but should not be used on plasmas or rear projection televisions.
